The recent shooting of a teenage boy have made me think of everything I have learned & observed in my life.
I am a white female of Scandinavian decent & a mother of two boys(now adults). My boys friends have been of numerous nationalities & I have never taught nor condoned prejudice. Living in smaller cities in SoCal the problem has rarely been brought up.
I would like to post things here that I have seen myself or no to be true & fact.
1. TV & cinema nowadays is often violent, sexual & showing total disrespect to elders/authority. This is what our children grow up watching. When I was young, TV was not that way. I find blatant disrespect for anything authoritative all the time now, even on Disney & Nickalodeon. Usually these shows are meant to be funny but what is it really teaching?
2. A young girl of mixed race Black/White goes to a new high school & is threatened by the other black girls for being friends with White & Hispanic people she has known all her life. Why is this? Who are the racists here?
3. I move to the South from the West coast. I am now surrounded by people who hate ME for being white. I have done nothing & nor has anyone in my family ever been involved in slavery in the past. They moved to America in the 1900s & were loggers in the Pacific Northwest. Why am I being punished? Mostly by younger Black individuals.
I have several stories that should make any reader sick.
... I am in a major traffic jam on the highway & have only moved two miles in two hours. A black woman comes flying up the on ramp & tries to push her way in front of me. I pull forward a few feet to let her know to wait her turn. She then parks her car right there & gets out with a metal bar in here hands & walks towards my cars driver's side. So I bumped her with my car. What the hell does she think...she owns the road & it's her right to assault people who don't give her what she wants?
I worked for a company who needed two new drivers. I hired in all six people, all Black. Only two worked out. The others would not show up on time(sometimes hours late) & use the company vehicles to run personal errands & take two hour lunches. Blatantly abusing the company & breaking rules. The company was afraid to fire them because they were Black. Why? If they were any other race they would have been fired immediately.
My husband was at work underneath a vehicle dong a brake job & had just finished chatting with a friend about his employer not paying him. The friend left & the guys boss just happened to be inside the office nearby & overheard the chat. This very large Black boss came out & pulled a gun on my husband & said "you better mind your own F...ing business. What gives him the right to do that?
I go to the local convenience store to pick up a few things. I hold the door open for a Black lady & her small child who are leaving with bags in their hands. The little boy said "thank you" & his Mother said "don't thank that white Bitch". What is she teaching her son?
My husband fallows me home & pulls into the next lane, then slows down a bit for me to get over. I have night blindness & he was helping me get into the appropriate lane for exiting. The guys behind him then pull up next to him & shake a gun at him for that. They were...you guessed it, Black. What the hell is this world coming to?
Just last week I had an incident at a place of business...I have made it a blog here & the man in question was Black & NOT fired for it. Titled My dog/child Trouble.
There are many...MANY instances where Blacks have flipped me off, cussed me out or purposely cut me off on the road where they are the ones who are outright breaking the driving laws. IE: taking up two lanes, cutting me off, going 20 or more miles an hour under the speed limit, talking on their cell phones & coming into my lane. They think the road belongs to them only.
This is a daily occurrence here in the South. I never had problems anywhere else in the country, at least not with people of only one race. Many people I have talked with about this agree & now feel they are more prejudiced since living in the South.
None of this behavior would be acceptable anywhere else in the country...why here?
Incidentally..I have yet to get threatened by any other race since moving here.
Now to address the murder/theft/assault problems they try to hide from the rest of the country. Nearly all murders this year & in the past have been Blacks on Blacks. Nearly all the robberies have been from Teen Blacks casing neighborhoods they don't live in & some are done with violence. These kids are even in school uniforms sometimes & the problem is getting bigger. Teachers have overheard them talking about doing these crimes in the hallways at school.
So when it comes down to it...If I see a teen in my neighborhood who looks out of place, 75% chance is that they ARE casing the area.
Basically I am saying it is the Blacks who are teaching their young to hate, disrespect & abuse everyone else & this is why we have a problem.
So I blame the parents of those children.
